Thirty-year-old Fáni is trapped in her own world of imagination. Because she imagines the death of every man she finds attractive, she can never fall in love. But everything changes when a talking black cat begins to court her.
director Rozália Szeleczki is a director and screenwriter originally from Budapest. She premiered her quirky debut feature film “Cat Call” at PÖFF Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in the First Feature competition, and was nominated for Best New Director at Raindance Film Festival’s Discovery Competition. She studied at the renowned Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (NL) and at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest (HU). Her two short films “Mrs. Rozgonyi” and “Since She’s with Me” were screened at Porto Femme, IFSAK, Zoom – Zbliżenia, Sehsüchte, and won eleven awards in total. Szeleczki is an alumnus of Sarajevo Talents and First Cut Lab. Her works are characterized by a sensitive feminine touch and a whimsical sense of humor.
